Getting Started

2008 at last! This is the year we are off on our first of 3 (we hope) six month sojourns around Australia in a caravan and 4WD. We have bought a 2003 Roma 17ft caravan already and Jim has spent ages looking at Prado 4WDs on the net so he will have a really good idea of prices and values when we arrive in Melbourne on Wednesday 16th April. We have already sent a carton of winter clothes, dishes and cutlery over to Stephen's to save costs on excess baggage. We plan to spend about 2 weeks in Melbourne setting up the van,buying the vehicle, arranging banking etc. and then we hope to hit the road out of Melbourne, heading for Moe about the 1st May.
At the moment back here there are lots of things to finalise before we leave so it is now in countdown mode. Our next entry should be from Melbourne when we have everything sorted, packed and before we say "Goodbye" to our Australian family of Stephen, Sarah, Oliver and Nicky.
